A citizen science meeting was organized in Fındıklı and Çağlayan Primary School on Thursday, 13 November 2025, and again on 20 November 2025, respectively (Picture 1 and 2). The pupils age ranged from 7 to 15 participated the event. The questionnaire prepared by the lead partner (translated into Turkish) was distributed to participants, and a total of 52 people from diverse backgrounds attended the meeting (see the attachment 1 for participants list and 2 for the power point presentation). They filled in the questionnaire and provided valuable insights into local perspectives on microplastic and litter pollution. This data will be evaluated and published in due course. During the meeting, a PowerPoint presentation was delivered on pollution sources, with a special focus on microplastics and litter in water, sediment and study area. Numerous questions from the audience reflected the high level of concern and awareness among residents regarding pollution issues. The activities were carried out by the Project staff led by Prof. Dr. Kadir Seyhan.
