Yunus Emre Institute Turkish Proficiency Test (TYS) Announcement

Applications for the Turkish Proficiency Exam (TYS), which will be held simultaneously on 21 September 2025 at Yunus Emre Institute's overseas offices in various parts of the world and in Ankara, Turkey, will continue until 22 August 2025.

THE FIRST INTERNATIONALLY VALIDATED LANGUAGE EXAM FOR TURKISH

The success of the Turkish Proficiency Exam in measuring and evaluating individuals' Turkish reading, listening, writing, and speaking skills using validated and reliable assessment tools has been certified with ALTE approval. Developed by the Yunus Emre Institute, the Turkish Proficiency Exam is the first internationally recognised language exam for Turkish, having received ALTE (The Association of Language Testers in Europe) approval (Q-mark).

Candidates who pass the exam are awarded a Turkish Proficiency Certificate at B2 and C1 levels according to their scores. The Turkish Proficiency Certificate, which holds the ALTE Quality Mark (Q-mark), is the first internationally recognised language proficiency certificate for Turkish.
