Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Türkiye, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Gave a Speech in the "Success Stories by KTU Graduates" Program.
The most comprehensive transportation festival in Türkiye, U-Fest, organized by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye, opened its doors to visitors on the first day of the event, held on January 25-26, 2024, at our university's Atatürk Cultural Center.
In today's evolving and transforming era of technology and communication, U-Fest brought together the dynamics of the road, railway, maritime, and air transportation sectors, meeting an important need to adapt to world standards, where the dynamics of information technology and communication networks converge. Hosted by our university, this festival shared the roadmap of current developments in transportation and infrastructure and presented fascinating projects to young minds, providing a blend of information and entertainment.
U-Fest, aiming to shape the future of the transportation and infrastructure sector together with young people, featured conferences, discussions, fun competitions, concerts, and activities were conducted by expert names in the field.
On the second day of U-Fest, Minister Uraloğlu participated in the "Success Stories by KTU Graduates" program held at Atatürk Cultural Center. Sharing his experiences and achievements with students, Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, a graduate of our university in 1988, conducted a discussion with young participants as part of U-Fest.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to be present on the university campus where he spent time as a Trabzon native and a student, Minister URALOĞLU addressed the audience, "I am truly grateful to be here with you on the university campus where we, as a Trabzon native and a student, spent our time. It is a duty assigned by the appreciation of our esteemed President to Anatolian and Black Sea people, a heavy responsibility... I can say this very clearly: no effort, no endeavor is ever in vain. It is exciting to see my fellow classmates in the audience. Speaking for myself, I have received the rewards of my efforts in the world until now. I want to tell you this: as we embark on the path with good and true intentions, we must move forward with the awareness that we will surely receive its reward one day."
Following an intimate discussion with the participation of Trabzon Governor Aziz Yıldırım and Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Murat Zorluoğlu, our university's Rector, Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı, presented Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu with a hand-drawn portrait. The program, where the Minister also reunited with his fellow classmates from KTU, concluded after a commemorative photo session.
The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, who participated in the "Success Stories by KTU Graduates" program, visited the Rectorate after the program. Expressing his emotions and thoughts during the visit, Minister Uraloğlu thanked our Rector, Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı, for hosting U-Fest, the first transportation and infrastructure festival held at our university.
Reminding everyone that he is also a graduate of KTU, Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated, "I am delighted to be at Karadeniz Technical University, located in Trabzon, the valuable city in the Black Sea Region. Today's program with our valuable students here has brought me great happiness. I extend my thanks to the entire KTU family through our gracious host, Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı, for your kind hospitality."
Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı emphasized the significance of being the first university to host the U-Fest, an event aimed at bringing together professionals and stakeholders from the transportation and infrastructure sectors to build a sustainable and innovative future in collaboration with young minds. He expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu for organizing and bringing the festival to our university. He said, "We are honored to host Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, who shared his knowledge, expertise, practices, and experiences with our esteemed students here at KTU."
At the end of the visit, Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı also presented the KTU emblem to Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, a graduate of KTU's Faculty of Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering in 1988. The visit concluded with a commemorative photo session.
