1. What are the scores, from lowest to highest?
Over time, these scores fluctuate. For the 2016–2017 school year, the highest application score was 311 and the lowest was approximately 219. For the period of 2017 to 2021, the reference point is around 202.
2. How much time is allotted for learning?
4 years, although for those who take the optional "English Preparatory Class," it may be 5 years. Taking the "English Preparatory Class" is optional. If they choose, students can select this option and study 30% of the sessions in English. Important Information: We strongly advise our students to enroll in the English Preparatory Class if they intend to study MAJOR or DOUBLE MAJOR at the Department of Maritime Transportation and Management or if they hope to further take benefit of the international student exchange programs like ERASMUS.
3. Why is the name of the department Balıkçılık Teknolojisi Mühendisliği?
The term 'Balıkçılık' is the Turkish equivalent of the internationally accepted English term 'Fisheries'.
Aquaculture, processing and assessment, stock management and conservation of aquatic resources, bioecology of aquatic creatures, environmental effects of fisheries, and underwater operations are just a few of the many activities in this sector that fall under the umbrella word "fisheries." On the other hand, fisheries engineering instructs students on how to perform these tasks using their engineering knowledge and abilities.
4.What courses do they enroll in?
Our courses are split into two groups as I degree training and (ii) marine / captaincy courses and distributed over 4 years. This is because the department's students will receive two titles upon graduation: "Fishing Technology Engineer" upon graduation and "Restricted Watchkeeping Officer" upon fulfilling the necessary requirements after graduation.
The revised program, which is available from the INFORMATION PACKAGE option on our department website, is valid from 2014–2015. The "Bologna Process," which deals with the joint credit transfer and validity of diplomas in courses with universities of EU nations, has been incorporated into the new course curriculum.
5. How many credits did they obtain in total to graduate from the department?
Take 240 credits, they do.
6. What requirements must one fulfill to enroll in this department?
Students accepted into this program shouldn't have any health issues that would make it difficult for them to swim, dive, save lives, or endure the sea. In the second semester of the first year, our non-swimmer students receive swimming and life-saving instruction from our qualified teachers with other students.
7. Does it accept transfers coming from external institutions? What divisions are they able to originate from?
External transfers are used to admit students from 2-year departments. The "Seafood Processing Technology Division" and "The Fisheries Division" are these divisions.
