The Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Education Programs (MÜDEK) is an independent organization that contributes to the improvement of the quality of engineering education by conducting accreditation, evaluation, and information studies for engineering education programs in various disciplines.
MÜDEK was established in 2002 by the Council of Engineering Deans (MDK), consisting of the deans of engineering faculties in Turkiye and TRNC, as an independent platform under the name of Engineering Evaluation Board to organize and implement a detailed program for the evaluation of engineering undergraduate programs of these faculties. It started the evaluation of engineering programs in 2003 and became an association in 2007.
Apart from MÜDEK administrative staff, all individuals working in MÜDEK boards, committees, working groups, and accreditation evaluation teams work on a voluntary basis without any remuneration.
MÜDEK has been a member of the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE) since November 17, 2006, and a signatory (member) of the Washington Accord (WA) since June 15, 2011.
