In the 2025–2026 URAP Turkey Ranking, a total of 198 universities were evaluated in two separate lists: universities with medical schools and those without. Among the 111 universities with medical schools, Karadeniz Technical University ranked 13th. Additionally, in the list ranking the top 25 research universities — including private universities — the university advanced 4 places to secure the 20th position.

The 2025–2026 Turkey ranking by the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) Laboratory of Middle East Technical University (METU) has been announced. Since 2009, URAP’s Turkey ranking had been based on 9 indicators. Last year, 6 new indicators were added, increasing the total number of indicators to 15. The number of TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) projects conducted by universities was added as a new metric. Additionally, the number of joint publications with other national and international universities was also included among the URAP indicators.
