The Prep Year is not loss but gain! We wish all students could pass the proficiency exam; however, if this is not realized for you, be sure that by studying in prep year, you will take your opportunity to become a more qualified student in the coming BA years. During the prep year, you will be taught different skills that enable you to communicate in English across the globe. In this one-year-process, with the help of instructors, you will be busy with a great number of projects and presentations so that you can express yourself in English.
The aim of the prep program is to instil an ever-vigilant desire for the acquisition of knowledge; equip new students with adequate language skills or refine the existing skills so as to build an academic foundation for success; and let them have a comfortable transition to the bachelor courses. The program also aims at encouraging learners to participate in a wide range of experiences to get a snap shot of what university life is like and nurturing students? emotional and social competence so as to ensure a smooth adaptation to university life. To this end, the program attempts to do her best to ensure an academic excellence and a strength of character and commitment.
So as to promote learners? comprehension and production, the program offers skill-based courses, namely writing, reading, grammar, listening, speaking, phonetics, and study skills.
