The Department of English Language and Literature of Karadeniz Technical University celebrated its 25th anniversary on September 30, 2024, with the participation of faculty members and students.

Also known as KTUDELL, the department marks its 25th year with a grand opening event for the 2024-2025 academic term. Over the past 25 years, KTUDELL has stood out for its contributions to both academic and social life. The department has sent graduates into various fields, including academia, teaching, translation, tourism, aviation (as pilots), tour guiding, and flight attendants. In addition, KTUDELL remains connected with its alumni. Asst. Prof. Dr. Merve GÜNDAY, who graduated as the top student in both the Faculty of Literature and the department in 2011, and now serves as a faculty member at Ankara University's Western Languages and Literatures Department, delivered the first lecture titled 'Literature and Life.' GÜNDAY’s talk focused on themes of existence and poetry, and at the end of her presentation, she received a certificate of appreciation from the department chair, Prof. Dr. M. Naci KAYAOĞLU.

The event was enriched by musical performances from KTUDELL PESCA, a band formed by preparatory students. The opening speech was given by the Dean of the Faculty of Literature, Prof. Dr. M. Alaaddin YALÇINKAYA, while Asst. Prof. Dr. Fehmi TURGUT closed the event. The celebration concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony, where faculty members and students marked the department’s 25th anniversary together.
