The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering provides education with undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs. Students who have completed their undergraduate education are awarded the title of Electrical and Electronics Engineer. Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department includes 2 separate programs, 100% Turkish and 100% English education. English preparatory education is subject to 100% English and students who are eligible to start graduate education if they do not have sufficient knowledge of English. Undergraduate students who start this preparatory class take the English proficiency exam at the end of the academic year, and graduate students take the English proficiency exam at the end of the academic term. Graduate students who fail the English proficiency exam at the end of one semester are entitled to one more semester. Graduate students who are successful in the qualification exam can start their normal education at the department in the spring and fall semesters.
Undergraduate students, on the other hand, can only start their education at the beginning of each academic year. The English proficiency exam is taken by the students who attend the one-year English preparatory class. All students who are successful in this exam are granted the right to start their normal education in the department from the beginning of the following academic year. Students who are eligible to start 100% Turkish education start normal education directly.
The department provides services to around 700 undergraduate students every year with its classrooms and laboratories in its own department building located on the Karadeniz Technical University Kanuni Campus (Central campus).
