KTU Department of Mining Engineering ranked first in Türkiye and 14th worldwide in its field, according to the 2026 rankings released by the international academic ranking organization ScholarGPS.

ScholarGPS publishes annual rankings based on researchers' academic performance, considering factors, such as publications, citations, and the h-index, which reflects the scientific impact of their work.

In the 2026 results, our Department of Mining Engineering, part of the Faculty of Engineering, maintained its position as the only department from Türkiye included in the global rankings for Mining.

Consistent Performance in Global Rankings

KTU Department of Mining Engineering had previously ranked 16th worldwide in both 2024 and 2025, demonstrating strong performance in ScholarGPS's Lifetime Achievement category.

With the latest results, the Department improved its global position by two places, reaching 14th worldwide in 2026. This progress reflects its consistent research performance and growing international recognition in the field of mining engineering.
