The discipline of health management has three basic goals that seem to contradict each other. The primary goal is to maintain the operation of hospitals and other health institutions and ensure their financial balance. The second goal is to prepare an environment where physicians, nurses and other care providers can perform their jobs effectively and efficiently to provide health services. The third purpose is to act as a mediator or arbitrator between professional groups working in healthcare institutions; To help patients maintain their moral and social values ??and to ensure their satisfaction through the services provided to patients. The Department of Health Management aims to train successful professional health managers with the skills needed to achieve and balance these goals.

Working places

Students who graduate from the four-year undergraduate program can undertake managerial duties at operational, tactical and strategic levels in other healthcare institutions operating in the healthcare sector, especially public hospitals and private hospitals. Graduates of the Department of Health Management can work in the central organization of the Ministry of Health (Inspection Board, etc.) and provincial organizations (Provincial Health Directorates), medical centers, polyclinics, home care centers, dialysis centers, etc. There are employment opportunities in health institutions, insurance companies, Social Security Institution, pharmaceutical and medical companies, private and voluntary organizations providing health services (Red Crescent General Directorate, etc.), and academic units providing health education.

Health Management graduates can be employed not only in units affiliated with the Ministry of Health but also in other public institutions and organizations (such as the Ministry of Family and Social Policies, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Development) by taking the relevant score types within the scope of the Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS).
