Dear students,

I would like to congratulate and welcome you for enrolling to the Faculty of Architecture, which is one of the first established faculties at Karadeniz Technical University. After long efforts and sacrifices during the exam preparation, you will experience the privilege of being a university student and studying in the faculty of architecture.

Our faculty has experienced academic staff, each of whom is competent in their field. Besides, our university is placed on an accessible, safe, well-infrastructured, well-located campus with a sociocultural structure. After being away for three semesters due to the COVID-19 epidemic, turning back to face-to-face education with you makes us excited, happy, and proud. The interest and energy of our new students motivate us in this direction. Even though we started the 2021-2022 academic year with a hybrid education in extraordinary conditions because of the COVID-19 epidemic, it does not prevent us from experiencing these feelings.

Our aim is to educate our students as individuals who can integrate into professional life more easily, question their environment, solve problems, and be open to innovations and sharing. In addition to their undergraduate education, our students can benefit from the "Erasmus Exchange Program", "Minor" and "Double Major" programs in our faculty. Besides, our faculty has Master's programs in all our Departments and PhD programs in the Departments of Architecture and Urban and Regional Planning.

As it is known, architecture is one of the oldest professions in the world, which strives to meet the most basic needs of humanity within the scope of designing the entire living space of human beings. Architects, interior architects, and urban planners cooperate with different fields of science at different scales to create livable environments. The education of the departments in the Faculty of Architecture is designed at the scale of the building, its interior space, its surroundings, and the city. This process includes functional, social, historical, cultural, aesthetic, and economic criteria and technical and social issues for the formation of a healthy and sustainable world. In this context, the Faculty of Architecture at Karadeniz Technical University is a nationally and internationally recognized educational institution with its strong and rooted educational infrastructure and its innovative education program that will meet today's needs.

We believe that our faculty will always go further and better in the coming years, together with its academic staff, students, alumni, and other stakeholders.
