Applied Psychology is the department that covers the transformation of the knowledge obtained by utilising the scientific methods used in the field of psychology into practice in the light of theory and research. Forensic Psychology, Educational Psychology, Industrial Psychology, Health Psychology, Clinical Psychology and Traffic Psychology are some of the popular areas of Applied Psychology. The Department of Applied Psychology consists of one Assistant Professor and three Research Assistants.
Our lecturers in this field carry out their studies on various subjects with an approach that combines theory and practice. The main fields of study of our faculty members include various psychopathologies such as depression, anxiety, behavioural addictions in children, adolescents and adults, and different therapy methods such as cognitive behavioural, schema, psychoanalysis, individual and group psychotherapies, psychological tests for different age groups, social cognition from the perspective of psychopathology, transdiagnostic approaches such as emotion regulation, metacognition, the relationship between psychopathologies and parental behaviour, psychological evaluation of health problems such as infertility, resilience of individuals in cultural context, well-being, identity development, family relationships and interactions with other people.
