Two newly renovated computer laboratories, D203 and D204, have officially opened at our University's Faculty of Science. Equipped with modern technology and designed to accommodate 96 students in total, the labs aim to provide a better learning environment for students in the Department of Computer Science.

The opening ceremony brought together our Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah ÇUVALCI, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Ali TEMÄ°Z and Prof. Dr. Ömer Faruk URSAVAÅž, Acting Secretary General Prof. Dr. Cemil RAKICI, Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof. Dr. Ali Osman BELDÜZ, university administrators, academic and administrative staff, and students.

Strengthening Digital Infrastructure for Education

Each laboratory can accommodate 48 students, with a total of 96 terminals connected to two central servers. Unlike traditional desktop computers, the new system allows students to log in using their university accounts and access educational software through a shared infrastructure. It also enables both laboratories to be managed centrally, making daily operations more efficient, secure, and easier to monitor.

The upgraded facilities also offer improved exam security, system usage monitoring, and data protection.

Investing in Better Learning Opportunities

Speaking at the opening ceremony, our Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah ÇUVALCI emphasized the importance of providing students with modern facilities and the technology they need for a quality education. He noted that the renovated laboratories would create a safer, more comfortable, and more productive learning environment. He also reaffirmed KTU's commitment to investing in digital technologies and improving its educational infrastructure.

The ceremony concluded with a tour of the new laboratories, where our Rector and accompanying university officials received information about the upgraded technology and facilities.
